We want more disney shows in Delhi ! My 3 yr old little birdie gets up in morning and remembers her evening with disney characters. The Mickey Mouse show held in Delhi was truly entertaining. From Minnie thumkas to Donald Duck quacks it was fun   filled.
She danced to their tunes and loved all.

I feel Delhi needs more of such shows.The response and craze was commendable . Kids are loving it..! I excused my self by saying now Mickey and family has returned. They will send Pooh and company after sometime.

Idea before creating this post was to present typical activities and achievements of children in age slab of 2 to 3 years. Some children may pick up developmental milestones earlier than other. All are different from each other so keep no worries as far as a kid is active. Doctors report children are growing in relation to other children their age and monitor the children’s weight gain compared to their height. Doubling the child’s height at age 24 months fairly predicts adult height.

I am sharing this for parents to understand what exactly to be expected from child at that particular age group.If you find this article useful or have more to share please make a feeble effort to comment so that it may be of use to other readers as well.

At age of 2 - The early preschoolers !
Children have very erratic eating habits that sometimes make parents more concerned.Sometimes children eat nothing and continue to grow remain hail and hearty as they eat little on one day and make up eating a bit more the next day.Chill moms ! Feel bit relaxed…God has given stomach so hunger instinct is natural too !

Gross motor development - gross motor skills involves the large muscle becomes more coordinated.

• Many physical activities like run, climb, crawl
• Balance on on foot.
• Play pour/splash in water tub.
• Play chases games like hide n seek.
• Pedal toys
• Play simple jumping games.
• Hop with both feet
• Play catch at short distances.
• Bouncing a large.
• Soft playground ball back and forth with you.
• Seats self on chair
• Loves acrobatics
• Lie down and roll
• Hanging by arms.

Fine motor development - The small muscles of the body is involved which enables

• Copying shapes from models.
• Coloring skills are developing
• scribbling , Writing
• Grasping, picking objects.
• Fastening clothing.
• Enables a child’s ability to eat.
• Use a computer.
• Turn pages in a book
• Perform personal care tasks such as brushing, washing hands, dressing and grooming.
• Play puzzles, blocks, little people, playdoh
• Drawing and painting.
• Use a fork/spoon to feed themselves.

This is a interesting and most active phase of kids ranging from 24 months to 36 months. I will come soon with the social development of kids in same age ! Keep Visiting ! Keep Sharing !

All my time went in handling my little smart birdie. She has started with her school settling was a bit  tearful but now all is well. To the extent she wants to go school on sunday <GLAD>. Today is her 2nd day when she is waiting for her cab sitting at the door for her pickup. The day came after 10 days of unhappy and unprepared visits. I am utmost relaxed. Certainly it was the time where parents had to go real tough and hard on kids. I and her teacher really worked on her to make her settle in school. We were in touch with each other and discussed her reactions and response. Then acted in the planned way . Initially for three days I dropped her to school.She cried lot and gave hard time to us and staff there. 2nd day was better than the first she started crying at the door itself stiffed herself in resentment.I had to use the real mom power. But somehow managed to pass her to teachers.She was quiet for sometime. As she got a gift from school and birthday was celebrated some time went cool and calm .She enjoyed a bit.It continued she said asked me to accompany her to class.

Thats what we wanted to hear step 1 we reached. We made her think that school activity will happen everyday in her life. She slowly made it a part of her routine. I am happy she accepted it that she has to come here evryday no matter what. But it was`nt easy sending her to school in cab for me. You see mom`s heart got active. We sent her in cab I continued to be in touch with teachers over phone. She cried a bit then 3-4 days got used to it. Mornings were not comfortable as she did not want to get up. But I wanted her to take all easy . So I played her favourite music loud. She automatically got up. It worked for me for 4 days.She understood the trick.Then again a monday and a new trick in mind followed. But she settled  finally. Now I am a happy mother of a well settled school going kid !
