Developmental phase of babies from 7 to 12 months. Kids are unique and activity level might change from each other.

7th Month

• Learns to sit.
• Time to encourage food items enriched with fruits and vegetables.
• Starts with stranger anxiety.
• Waves hand to say ‘bye’
• Combines syllables says haha , dada …
• Teething begins. Take care moms ! Time for calcium supplements . Do consult a doctor.
• Baby cruises/walks from one place to another with support.

8th Month

• Phase of developing hand eye co-ordination
• Shifting food stuff from one bowl to another.
• Discovery of object permanence - enjoys bubbles game.
• Learns to crawl.
• Shows the requirements with fingers.
• Learns to points to objects.
• Growing up as individuals now.

9th Month

• Baby makes a effort to walk holding our hand .
• Ready to hear baby rhymes, baby songs.
• Smart enough to enjoy the bangs of two objects.

10th Month

• Some even hold cup and take sip.
• Can have meal with there hands half messed and half gobbled way !
• Baby can stoop, sit, squat.
• Stands independently for few seconds .
• Ready to play with baby books.
• Baby can sit with parents/under supervision fin front of a PC.

11th Month

• Enjoys peek a boo games
• Babies take 3-4 steps and sits.
• Understands simple intructions. They say ‘no’.
• Puts object in to a container.
• Says a word.

12th Month

• Says two words.
• Baby Walks.
• Teething continues.
• Indicates there wants by gestures.
• Ready for scribbles . Introduce paper before they get attracted to walls.
• Allset to learning world around. Explore and experiment things around. Time to play safe ! Take care and make home kid friendly .

All Babies are different. The behaviors and skills cannot be same for all. The activity level remains different . I have tried to compiled the activities in one post to provide a sneak preview of current activities and future behavior. Moms curiosity !! What one baby learns and acts earlier might be slow in another activity. No worries ! It varies with each different baby. All baby needs is tummmy full at this stage love and care.

Activity flow of babies from 1 month to 6 months.

1st Month

• Lies on tummy and can lift head.
• Notices to the sounds more from right ear than the left
• Follows the objects with eyes.
• Smiles, laughs move head a bit.
• Focuses on eyes and face.
• Notices black and white patterns and bold colors..
• Take out sounds like aah`s and ooh`s.
• Turns head towards sounds
• Baby will naturally uncurl as has been lying folded in utreus.
• Baby is ready for some excercises to strengthen upper and lowerback.
• The sense of security rises and deepens with the care taker.
• Reacts to tickles under ear and feet

2nd Month

• May start to sleep at nights.
• Tries to set in a schedule caregiver provides.
• Ready for the next set of immunizations.
• Ready for the height, weight, head circumference measurements on trip to pediatric.
• Begins coos and gurgles.
• Lifts head when placed on shoulders and tummy.
• Track the objects with eyes.
• Shows delight in various sounds made by you.

3rd Month

• Reach to a toy.
• The array of emotion showing increases fascination, laughter, gurgles, blows bubbles, excited, bored, interested.
• Learns through accidental happenings.
• Makes eye contact with you.
• Visually track the movement of items.
• Memory is ready for storing words as parents who talk with babies has higher vocab and better IQ`s when they grow older.
• Reacts to louder sounds.
• Learns the love and affection shown . Bond Building time.

4th Month

• Roll Over begins turns on back from tummy and tummy to back.
• Develops head control.
• Babies gurgles, grunt, coos, expressive and shows emotions.
• Understands and gazes the caretaker.
• Becomes responsive to noises and various sounds in the room.
• Gains strength in leg and back.
• Grasp out for a toy.

5th Month

• Baby can sit for a while without support.
• Explores things happening around .
• Learns kick ready for a baby gym fun.
• Plays with hands and legs.
• By the end of 5th month baby develops clear vision and enjoys the moving toys.
• Takes a plunge for fine  motor development.

6th Month

• Baby is ready for solid food ! Delightful treat for little tastebuds.

• Masters the art of sitting without support.

• Can pass objects from its one hand to another. Still time to pass it to others

• Pulls objects towards itself.

• Teething season begins.

• Differentiate between bold colors and spiral prints.

• Creates two syllable sound. Touch your hearts by saying baba , mama , yaya, tata .

• Imitates sounds.

• Total sleeping hours 14-17 hours.

The developmental milestones for two trimesters . More yet to come ….7 to 12 months. Comparisions with other kids in babies development is not anyway suggested by experts. All are individuals with own resources and skills. It varies !
